Rolle, authentic and cosmopolitan

A whole host of walking and biking trails through vineyards and along Lake Geneva await visitors in search of a relaxing holiday.

The mediaeval town of Rolle on the Lake Geneva shoreline boasts a magnificent 13th century castle opposite the Ile de La Harpe protecting the port. Built in the 19th century, the island is dedicated to Frédéric-César de La Harpe, born in Rolle and private tutor to Tsar Alexander 1st of Russia.

In the heart of the La Côte AOC vineyards, Rolle is surrounded by vineyard villages like Luins, Vinzel, Mont-sur-Rolle and Tartegnin. Ideal for wine tourism holidays, the area attracts wine enthusiasts, walkers and cyclists who delight in its natural landscapes. At the weekend, locals and day trippers meet in the Luins-Vinzel or Mont-sur-Rolle wine cellars to sample local wines and meet the winemakers who take turns in attending.
A cosmopolitan town, Rolle hosts the private school, Le Rosey which has a first class reputation around the world.
